30 Day YouTube Challenge-Day 1-Freeform Challenge Check In
Here is the vid I tried to upload to YouTube. I am still optimistic it will load, eventually but for now, here it must stay.
*EDIT* The video finally uploaded to YouTube...sideways (~_~.) I have now fixed it so you can view without injuring your neck in the process. My apologies for the constant movement in the vid. It is certainly NOT glamourous trying to film a vid using your phone and an extended arm. Sheesh

Are you easily influenced?
I hope not because if you are you are going to miss out! As you saw in my 'Whats In My Bag? Tag!' video. The featured bag, The Brahmin Anytime Tote, was given to me as part of the Vogue Influencer Network.
The bag came as a complete surprise to me. I received the email and filled out the info as suggested but I was thinking ok I will get a keychain, wallet, something small. Meanwhile...this HUGE box gets delivered and I was in shock. The tote is absolutely gorgeous and I have received quite a few compliments on it, and a few threats of theft as well. :) Vogue says "The Anytime Tote is a classic staple that will surely remain a go-to bag in your wardrobe for years to come." And I must say I agree. I have quite a few bags and I change them often. This one has remained in heavy rotation for a while now.
Ok back to how you can get in on this amazing opportunity...After answering a few questions I was hand-picked by Vogue to be one of the first to know and share just-launched fashion and beauty collections, industry events and exclusive product samples!
Now, I want to give YOU the opportunity to take the questionnaire for your chance to become a Vogue Influencer just like me! Just click here and good luck! Let me know if you get selected!
**UPDATE** so apparently the link isnt working *sad face* It appears that the Influencer Network may have a waiting list at the moment but fret not! Go here and register for the Vogue Insiders Panel. I am certain that as space opens you will be notified.

YouTube FOTD- Go Bold or Go Home f. NARS Bellydance Duo and NYX Plum Lipgloss
For some reason with all of my vids you have to watch them in 480p to hear the music, if you watch in any lower resolution you will only hear dubbing noises, sorry about that, blame YouTube. Thanks for watching!

Ready for my close-up!
Well I jumped out there and uploaded a new YouTube vid. Why not? I didnt mind it before...ok thats a bit of a lie, I find the editing process a bit tedious but I can deal. I dont know which direction to take it just yet but I dont like vids with a whole lot of talking, especially just to see makeup being applied. I need to be getting product knowledge or something so I opted out of that for my vid. I also sped it up so you dont have to sit through too much. I am praying to the YouTube powers that be that my sound doesnt get snatched. I always wonder how people get to keep the music in their vids with no issues - more research to be done it seems.
If you are so inclined check out my YouTube page and stay a while (read: SUBSCRIBE) and if there is something you want to see in particular or you actually want me to do live reviews or watch my friends and I act wild or see me rant, whatever the case may be just let me know and I will do my best to make it happen...within reason. For your consideration, the vid is below...

Believe the Hype - Yes Another Sigma Makeup Post
I finally gave into the hoopla and purchased a set of Sigma Makeup Brushes
Now I have watched plenty of videos from YouTube gurus, read many a post from beauty bloggers on these and most of them said that they were sent the brushes from Sigma. Although they swore to me that the free brushes didnt sway their opinion I honestly didnt feel I could trust them 100%. I also have read posts and seen videos about those who said they couldnt support a company that blatantly stole from another company. Now, let us be clear - I paid for these brushes out of my pocket with my own money - so trust me when I tell you that these brushes are awesome! Yes they are just as good as the name brand brushes they emulate and YES they are a WHOLE lot cheaper! As a self-confessed brush fanatic who spares no expense when it comes to getting a brush that I MUST have I can attest to the quality of these brushes. I have used them for a good 3 weeks now, deep cleaned, spot cleaned - tried and true, through and through - THEY ROCK! Whether you are just starting as an MUA or if you are a seasoned professional you need to have these.
As for the negativity surrounding Sigma's sales approach - I really could care less. I mean there isnt really too much you can do in the beauty industry without taking from another company. I mean a brown shadow, is a brown shadow is a brown shadow all day long. You dont hear anybody complaning about that right? To each his/her own. While I will pay for what I want, I do love a bargain and I will be buying more from Sigma in the way of brushes. I tried Sigma Makeup Brushes and the truth is - I loved them and I will repurchase and I have spread the word about how great they are and I will continue to do so. Give their shadows a try too - they sent me a great smokey grey shadow as a GWP that I adore.
I picked this one because I really dont need another brush roll honestly

T & T Beauty Review - Smashbox Beauty Confidential Kit
Until I get the hang of my new netbook and/or obtain a new camera, my pictures and vid abilities are limited, however *in my best kandi voice* I fly above! Up top is a pic *albeit not a great one* of a look I did using MOSTLY Smashbox Cosmetics (my foundation and powder are not Smashbox) from their Beauty Confidential Kit. To see what I think about the kit check out the vid below and a written wrap up after that. See you soon!
I tried the Smashbox Cosmetics Beauty Confidential Kit and the truth is it definitely gives you a great bang for your buck. For $47 you are getting a serious amount of QUALITY product. I highly recommend trying out the kits if you are feeling the wallet strain that most of us are. Throw in the plum colored mascara and you are set! Check out Smashbox for more great deals. Happy shopping!

Easing Back In...with a vid!
So as you know I am without a camera and up until last Friday I was without a laptop as well - technology hasnt been my friend as of late. Well I went ahead and replaced my crappy netbook (Im looking at you HP) with a brand spanking new one courtesy of Gateway!
If you follow me on Twitter you also know that I had a bit of a rough week. I am happy to say that I am feeling better and well rested but need to take the necessary steps to cut down on stress (look out for more posts on products to be used for that very reason) but one of the things that I find pleasure in Ive been neglecting and that is MAKEUP!
In order to ease my way back into doing the things that I find pleasure in and to test out my new webcam I made a YouTube vid that shows how I do my every day look. Nothing fancy at all but I figured I needed to post so I thought why not include it in the blog?
Thanks for stopping by and see you all soon!
PS - I couldve sworn I picked a song that was long enough for the vid but apparently not...my bad yall.
