Just Shana: Back to Barbados...The Finale!

As I stated in the last post I was treated to a few days at Bouganvillea Beach Resort as a thank you for my assistance with the film 'Chrissy!'.  The images will tell the remainder of the story, all I can say is I cannot wait to return.  Enjoy and thank you for following the Back to Barbados series.  :)

my room-yes I kept the Do Not Disturb sign on the entire time

headed somewhere...or coming back, I dont know

path to my room

path to the restaurant at the resort

one of those rooms belongs to me!

view at breakfast

I would hang out here too

after breakfast I took a walk on the beach

normally I HATE sand...

but this sand I couldnt get enough of

realizing it was really my last day there  :(

I even did a video (though it is being a pain to upload at the moment)!  A sad mess I was LOL  Definitely missed my family but who would want to leave this place???  I would be a beach bum for real, how can you hold down a normal 9-5 with this place as your backdrop?  It is beyond me.

Just Shana: Back to Barbados...(Part 3)

After we finished shooting I had a few days to rest and relax before heading back to the states.  I was treated to a stay at the lovely Bouganvillea Beach Resort and there aren't enough words to type that can convey the beauty of this place, or of Barbados in general.  So of course I have the pics to share...but first my girls, Tanya and Nathania took me on the Mount Gay Rum Tour.  Why, why, why is that tour so awesome?  It is a must attend attraction.  See below:

Tanya, myself & Nathania before the tour-love them

about to watch a short film on the history of Mount Gay but I was already tipsy at this point due to the free rum punch...

see?  more rum punch after the movie *smh*

and then a tasting...help me...

Nathania...who BTW maybe did one of the 3 tastings and the others she poured in my cup...

and of course I drank it LOL

Tanya didnt drink any of hers...

so of course I had to help her out LOL

Tanya & I

drinks starting to kick in so I had to sneak behind the bar for a photo op

time to visit the actual plant but sorry, no pics allowed inside  :(

after the tour you can do the lunch option which of course we did and it was delicious...and yes more free drinks were had.

So thats that.  I didnt take any food pics because I was too busy stuffing my face but rest assured it was amazing.  I cant wait to go back for the premiere so I can do the tour again!  Thanks again Tanya & Tan-Tan!  Stay tuned for Part 4!

Diary of an MUA: Back to Barbados...(Part 2)

More BTS pics!  If your are not viewing this post from a mobile device the images may be super tiny.  My apologies as these were on my phone.   To see more behind the scenes images and video check out yesterday's post which contains all of the links.

One of our camera guys, Michael, working with some of the amazing actors.  We were in this tiny bathroom for this scene
this actress, Makalah, who plays the lead had most of us in tears this day.  She was prepping for a tough scene and in the end she nailed it!  Love her and Auntie Sylvia who is seen here helping her get ready
Some of the crew incl. Na La on sound and PA Cindy who had a cameo that day unbeknownst to her :)
Kacy joined us from Jamaica to get on set experience and was extremely helpful in many ways.  She and I talked Hunger Games any chance we could get!  :)
Marc was the consummate professional on set...and a tough boss to work for!  LOL
Marc seen here with his mom, our Director Marcia Weekes.  Love both of them
down time = beauty fun!  Julian, PA Extraordinaire with PA Sophia, who also happens to be an amazing dancer
Makalah trying out work behind the camera for a change
she was serious!  :)

Diary of an MUA: Back to Barbados...via pics (Part 1)

I have been meaning to post the rest of my pictures from my trip to Barbados in April but I couldnt find them!  I knew I uploaded them to my laptop from my tablet but when I went looking in my usual folders they were nowhere to be found...well that is because they were uploaded to some ol' random folder I never use.  Thank goodness for the search option...anyway here are some images that I wanted to share.  I will break them up into maybe 3 or 4 posts since there are quite a few.  These are mostly behind the scenes pictures in this post.

we had the pleasure of shooting here one day in this amazing compound which you will see below.  I did NOT want to go inside, you can see why...

this is the compound...yeah...it is one of my life's missions to become friends with the owners, seriously.  Click here for video of this location.

this was a cave that led down to the beach

Sometimes you had to catch rest whenever and where ever...
at least he found a bed LOL  but seriously these two guys were some of THE hardest workers I have ever seen.  They deserved those catnaps

this is my buddy Na La, we had so many great conversations in between shooting.  Here he is with a makeshift cup because we ran out of cups on set that day LOL

whatever works!

I showed this house on a video, def not glamorous at all but I think some of the best times on set happened in this little old house

me catching some down time in the back of Auntie Debbie's car...way too hot and I was too worn out to try and make myself look like anything that day LOL

most of our days were spent shooting at this school, St. Catherine's

and one day we had a buddy on set...he would not stay off camera!

and yes they all needed makeup, styling and hair.  My team was nothing short of amazing.  I love them

a shot of the jib...I hated that jib that day LOL  but it will def help to tell the story visually

You can see some of my other posts about my time in Barbados here and here and here.  Thats it for now.  :)
