365 Days of Lip Looks - August 9, 2011 f. Milani Lip Flash and MAC Currant

Sorry for the subpar photo but I realized I wore a lip outside of my normal nude comfort zone so I had to hurry and document it. 

I did my workout yesterday with a full eye look, no face makeup, and my eyes were burning once that sweat started to come.  So today I opted for a brow and lip instead with a touch of blush.

*peeks in*  Don't look at me like that!  Do you know how difficult it is to rock a new lip each and every day and also document it?  Yes I know I have a lot of lip colors but its hard to break out of your comfort zone :(

ANYWAY...I am wearing a lip look today that is still in my realm of pink but a bit more bold.  It is NYX Femme lipstick.  While the color is shocking in the tube, the formulation of this particular lipstick is quite emollient which takes the color payoff down a bit.  I am definitely not saying that in a negative way.  If you want more POW for your pucker then it can definitely be layered and built up but for those who want a little something extra without being too over the top then one application will be plenty.  Of course, as always, for anyone wanting to tone it down even more you can apply it over gloss (I used Ruby Kisses Lip Salvation) or balm and also use it along with a lip liner as I did today with one of my staples, MAC Chestnut liner.  I actually would like to find a more suitable lip liner to use with this color as I think the hue was toned down a bit too much by using it.  See for yourself:

I am a bit of an oxymoron as it relates to my love of beauty.  While I enjoy learning about new products and acquiring them I do not think of myself as a collector, like whats the fun in buying stuff that you dont use?  Waste not, want not I always say.  In conjunction with that I hate when a product is overly hyped.  I tend to not want to purchase it if too many people have proclaimed it to be the second coming or whatever.  Like no product should wield that much power.  Now, that said, there are times when I am pleasantly pleased by something that is hyped.  In this case I am referring to the Evolution of Smooth Lip Balm Smooth Spheres.  Here is what EOS has to say:

I have two of these, the one pictured above which is Summer Fruit, and I also have Honeysuckle Honeydew.  I picked them up from WalMart one day totally not planning to but once I saw them I couldn't resist of course and like I said they were worth the hype.  Sometimes lip balms can be too thin, or too thick and/or don't last.  This one is none of those things.  The perfect consistency and they are long lasting.  Not to mention they smell amazing, just like real fruit and they taste good too...not that I go around eating lip balm but I'm just sayin...the EOS Lip Balm Smooth Spheres retail for $3.29.

After applying my lip balm I realized I was short on time so I made it a "liner and a lip" day.  Once again its a paired down lip look but I didn't feel like having to touch up too much today.  I used my Revlon Super Lustrous Lip gloss in Lilac Pastelle which a lot of people say is a dupe for MAC's Lavender Whip and Yves Saint Laurent Golden Gloss in Light Lavender 18.  I only have the one so I cant compare but I do love it.  On to the pics!

See ok I now know why Ive been failing at this challenge, its not that i dont wear a lip every day because I do, its that I tend to wear the same lip often and that matters not. The challenge is to post your lip look and so no matter how much i bore you all with my every day pale pink/nude lip i am determined to do better in this challenge! :)

365 Days of Lip Looks - March 3, 2011 f. MAC Snob lipstick, MAC Currant liner and NARS Boogie Nights lipgloss

Wanted to do something a bit darker and kinda bold especially since I went a bit plain on the eye save for the pop of color on the lower lash line. The makeup and outfit got a good deal of compliments today. Someone even asked if I was going on an interview...silly co-workers...

Side-note: every so often I find myself in a situation where I am at a loss of words, either from something someone said, did, etc. I think I am going to start sharing some of them here, especially the beauty-related ones. Mainly because I know "the sig" could care less about my beauty run-ins :) anyway, thanks for stopping by.
